Special Update! History Has Been Made.
On November 30th, the Mill River was diverted into its newly constructed permanent channel where it will flow freely from now on. The Mill Pond is now one for the history books.

Now a new natural landscape slopes down toward the river from the west and east. Construction will wrap up soon after the sheet piling is removed and the east wall is demolished. Planting along the river edge will occur in the spring.

New construction videos are now available.

Help Us Keep Making History
Please take this end of year opportunity to make a tax-deductible gift to the Mill River Collaborative and help keep the Mill River Project moving forward. While the city provides some of our funding, most of our direct support comes from the people, corporations and organizations of Stamford.

Since 2002, over $3.6 million in private funding to the Mill River Collaborative from hundreds of people, corporations and organizations has made the planning, project management and implementation of the Mill River Park & Greenway possible. Please join all of us as a Collaborative member with a contribution that is personally appropriate for you. Membership is affordable to everyone and the payoff is already priceless. See photos of the river in its new channel at www.millriverpark.com.

It is now becoming evident what an effective public/private partnership can achieve in bringing a brighter, greener future for Downtown. Much remains to be done, however, and your participation will help create a green legacy that future generations in Stamford will cherish. How often does a city the size of Stamford have the opportunity to create a major green space in the heart of its downtown? With your help, it will be done.

As a Collaborative member you will be invited to new events that are being planned for the park in 2010 and will be kept up to date on latest designs and developments. So please make your tax-deductible contribution and join the Collaborative today.
